For the last 18 months we have been under the burden of renovating our church kitchen.  What started out as an upgrade to the cooking equipment and a new floor and ceiling has turned into a major undertaking.  As we delved into the project we found that the exhaust hood system was not up to code.  The makeup air system was non-existent; hence way out of code.  The fire suppression system was outdated and in violation of the fire codes.  And the list goes on.  And to complicate things, the state code requires a licensed contractor(s) to pull and perform all work since we are considered a commercial building, which prevents us from supplying some of the labor.  We have been allowed to replace the kitchen ceiling.

We are desperately trying to raise the funds to correct all of these violations as well as to purchase the much needed new stoves and ovens.  Thanks to the generosity of the church members and other donors we are at 60% of our goal.  We still need to raise approximately $27,000 to finish the project.
